First, some exciting news: we found an author who didn’t have a bibliography tag, Robert Ainsworth! This means that we have officially added a new author to Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary (technically) and any work by him will now be fully searchable. The main work I’ve seen of his is a Latin and English dictionary, Thesavrvs Lingvae Latinae Compendiarivs Or, a Compendious Dictionary of the Latin Tongue, which is one of the shorter title versions, sadly (I love a long title). You can click the link to browse through the digitized version of it!
Second, as we’re getting to the halfway point in the semester (which, how??), I’m starting to firm up the details of my final for the internship. As a refresher, I’ll be creating a page devoted to The Spectator and its role within the dictionary. I’ve created pages like these in the past for my own site (static, semi-landing pages that provides general information on a topic), but this will be the first time I’m incorporating actual research into one, which will be a very fun experience. I have a bit of a laundry list of to do's, so to keep you in the loop, let’s go over it!
And that’s where it stands as of now! I’d like to include some nifty bits, like integrating The Spectator author tag into the page so you can automagically see that information right away, but we’ll see where my skills and the site’s limits take me. I’m excited to see how this turns out!
